New Year, New Opportunities

Today I asked my children what was one of their New Year Goals or resolutions for 2019. One said to get into sports, another to get better at drawing, and my last child said to do pushups without passing out! Though we all thought this was comical at first, he was serious about this goal and said he would work towards it as much as possible in the new year.

2018 was a challenging year for my family and I. We dealt with lost loved ones, financial challenges, moving away from a place we lived for over 18 years and starting new career paths. Though 2018 has brought many challenges, it has also shown us the God given strength and tenacity He placed in us to overcome every obstacle that we face in life.

Now that we are heading into 2019 and beyond, let us allow the momentum we’ve built through last year and years before, catapult us further into our dreams and goals we have set in our hearts and minds to accomplish. Every day, week, month, year that God allows us to see, is another opportunity to walk by faith and away from fear. Regardless of our failures, setbacks, challenges, doubters, naysayers; we have what it takes to go to the next level of where we want to be in our lives.

Life is but a vapor, let’s live, laugh, love to the fullest and believe we can achieve what we set our minds to accomplish. We write the vision, make it plain, trust in God and our God given abilities, and move by faith and not by sight. Let 2019, and every year after that, be a year of no regrets! A year where we look back and say, all of the hard work, pain, blood, sweat and tears was for this moment.

I will embrace it and not run from the sacrifice, discipline and dedication this year. I will stay the course. I will learn new things. I will let the past stay in the past and press on towards my passions. Our new opportunities start the moment we realize and accept we were made for greatness, we were made for more! Our New Opportunities start now! Happy New Year Everyone!
